When a patient remains in bed for a long period of time in one position, complications such as pressure ulcers (also known as pressure sores, bed sores, or decubitus ulcers) sometimes develop. These ulcers are an area of localized damage to the skin and underlying tissue caused by pressure, shear, friction, and/or any combination of these. They tend to occur most frequently in the elderly and those with spinal cord injuries.

Low air loss mattresses are available for the treatment and prevention of pressure ulcers. These mattresses provide the therapeutic benefits of pressure relief while offering skin moisture management. A control unit at the foot of the bed provides for quiet operation while maintaining the proper pressure setting.

Mattress rolls up for easy storage. Attached carrying strap makes transporting the mattress easy.

Dual quilted cover with slip layer protects against shearing and friction. Ten nylon buckle straps secure mattress to bed

Automatic pressure monitoring to maintain comfort and recommended therapy pressures

Automatic Wireless Fowler to protect from bottoming out when bed is articulated

Therapeutic support surfaces help distribute body weight more evenly than a regular mattress. This can help sores heal and aids in the prevention of new injury. It also aids in patient comfort, eliminating the need for constant tuning by the caregiver.
